GARLIC! GARLIC! GARLIC!
Join us for our annual Garlic Festival this Saturday, Aug. 1st, well have lots of fresh, flavorful, locally grown GARLIC!
Bathtub Springs will be back with all of their different kinds of garlic, fresh garlic powder and will be doing a roasted garlic demo. Hopefully, they will also be bringing their great tasting green cabbage!
Both Softneck and Stiffneck Garlic will be available with Garlic Braids and Elephant Garlic. Red Cloud potatoes, purple bell peppers, Dragons Tongue bean, Vidalia onions, filet and Italian Flat Pole beans, green and wax beans, plus cucumbers, serranos, baby eggplants, leeks, fennel, tomatoes, cherry tomatoes, summer squash, red cabbage, carrots, radishes, rainbow Swiss Chard, and shallots will also be available. Fresh cut herbs include Sweet Thai Basil, Genovese Basil, lemon and purple basil, rosemary, and summer savory.
Some vendors also have farm fresh eggs, potted plants and flowers, delicious homemade jams and relishes. Wooden items, jewelry, pretty aprons, handmade soaps and lotions are just some of our crafts. The Red Turtle Caf will have breakfast and lunch items including pizza, plus bread and pastries to take home.
We are now selling raffle tickets for $5.00, available at the Market Managers table, a drawing will be held once a month with the winner receiving an item from each vendor, and the June winner was Barbara Baum!
Saturday, from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., on the corner of Highway 61 and 180A in Concho, be sure to come early for the best selections!
Our next festival is our very popular CHILE FESTIVAL! Locally grown chilies will be available and well have the roaster fired up. After purchasing, you can have your chilies roasted right there, no extra charge! Mark your calendars to join us on August 22nd for the Chile Festival.
