Tomorrow is our Tomato and �In case you missed it� Chile Festival, and once again, the chile roaster will be fired up!

This week the farmers will have tomatoes, Heirlooms include Cherokee Purple, Sioux and Roma, red slicing tomatoes, mixed cherry tomatoes (red, yellow, black, pink, white, pears) and �Principe Borghese� tomatoes, also tomatillos, sweet orange gypsy peppers, bell peppers, Concho, green and pablano peppers, also Jalapenos. Navajo Red Seeded watermelons, which are very sweet and flavorful this year, also Galia and Asian melons, cantaloupe, green and wax beans, summer squash, okra, Italian and baby eggplant, pickling cucumbers, sweet onions - red, white and candy. Fresh cut herbs include cutting celery, Genovese, lemon, purple and Sweet Thai basils, and rosemary.

Some vendors also have farm fresh eggs, potted plants and flowers, delicious homemade jams and relishes. Jewelry, pretty aprons, and handmade soaps and lotions are just some of our crafts. The Red Turtle Caf� should be there with lots of freshly prepared baked goods, breakfast items and even pizza!

Concho Farmers Market also accepts Senior FMNP checks! Checks or vouchers are $3 each and can be used to buy any fresh vegetables from participating vendors. If you have received your vouchers or know someone who has, please bring them with you to shop at our market, we are the only participating farmers market in Apache and Navajo counties. We are now selling raffle tickets for $5.00, available at the Market Manager�s table, a drawing will be held once a month with the winner receiving an item from each vendor, and the July winner was Miles McGinnis!

Saturday, from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., on the corner of Highway 61 and 180A in Concho, be sure to come early for the best selections!

Next Saturday, Sept. 12th, we will also be vending at the Apache County Fair in St. Johns! We will setup at our usual market location in the morning and then will be going to the fairgrounds and setting up in the Petting Zoo area from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., be sure to stop by and see us!
